This article is brought to you thanks to our partnership with Woolworths.
If you read my last article, then you know how excited I am about the Woolworths collectible glass containers.
Now that I’ve got my hands on the full set, all I can think about is all of the delicious things that I can cook and store in them for Christmas. That’s right, it is almost Christmas, and if you are like me, then you are spending your spare minutes (did you laugh as you read that because you’re a mum and there’s no such thing?) or spare seconds thinking about all of the things that you have to do before and on the big day.
I have a pretty big family and we are all about doing Christmas on a budget.
One of the ways we save money every year is by stretching our meals out for as long as possible, which is going to be super easy this year with the Woolworths glass containers.
We also like to buy ingredients that we can use in a range of recipes.
If you are in need of some inspiration this Christmas, we’ve got you covered.
Stay At Home Mum’s very own food guru, Raquel, has put together a collection of recipes that will save you some money over the Christmas break.
Yes! You can have this gorgeous spread.
Ham – 3 Ways
My favourite part of Christmas, is the ham. Cold, cooked, honey glazed, I’ll take it however it comes. What if I told you that you could make four ham recipes for just $65.00 from Woolworths? It almost sounds too good to be true right?
Well, it’s not.
All you need is the essential ingredients that are already in your pantry, Raquel’s recipes and your glass containers to store it all in.
We recommend cooking a glazed ham for these recipes to make them extra delicious! Try this Classic-Honey Glazed Ham Recipe!
Storing your ingredients and leftovers in the Woolworths glass containers will keep them fresher for longer. The lids feature a four-hinge locking mechanism with a silicone seal that locks in the freshness.

Pumpkin – 3 Ways
So now we’ve got the meat sorted what about the sides and a sweet treat? How does Pumpkin Soup in a Bun, Roasted Pumpkin and Feta Salad and a Pumpkin Pie sound? I know I’m already salivating. Best of all, it can all be done for just $55.00. Head over to Woolworths to pick up a whole pumpkin and get cooking!!!
The Woolworths glass containers can go from the fridge or freezer straight to the oven, broiler (without the lid on), or in the microwave.
This means you can roast pumpkin days in advance, freeze it and have it ready to go in your soup or salad on Christmas day, saving you time in the kitchen, so that you can enjoy precious moments with your family.

Bonus Tips for Stretching Your Budget
As I said, one of the ways I like to save money at Christmas is by buying ingredients that I can use in a few different meals. As you may have noticed there are a few ingredients in Raquel’s recipes that go a long way. Walnuts, for example, are in the pumpkin pie, ham salad, and the pumpkin salad, while fresh chives feature in the vol au vents, croquettes and the parmesan salad.
Why not use any excess ingredients for decorations?
One of the most important ingredients in the pumpkin pie is the Woolworths Gingerbread Men. These little guys are not only delicious in a pie crust, they are also totally adorable and make for perfect table decorations, which also double as an extra little after dinner treat.
