The Little Things
It truly is the little things that count. Even if you’re only having family over, consider having little place cards with their names at their table setting. Simple, pretty and they will feel really special. Wrapping your cutlery in a brightly coloured ribbon is another very small but visually effective way to decorate. Consider sprinkling a little glitter or even fake snow around to make the room magical!
- Wrap a couple of small empty boxes in Christmas paper and ribbons and place one on every plate – these can be put away and used for the next few years too!
- Don’t forget drinks! Coloured ice cubes are a nice touch or if you have access to some small edible flowers, consider freezing them into the ice cubes for a real surprise!
- A lovely fragrant burning candle can really set the tone of the day. Betty Crocker now have gingerbread and red velvet cake flavoured candles that smell delicious and will give your guests an appetite as to what is to come! (I picked up these candles from Mitre 10).
- Add some festive music and you’re done!
