Better days are going to be over once you have a bad hair day, right? Well, not anymore!
There are just some of those days where nothing you do to your crowning glory will make it look good. If there is a bit of moisture in the air your hair curls up into a Jew Fro – or it is limp as a soggy sao?
I have hair that always looks like I’ve stuck my finger into a powerpoint – so I’ve learnt the hard way that sometimes you just have to find ‘another way’ to deal with those bad hair days.
Try these hair hacks to deal with bad hair days we have listed down for you and see if they work for you!
1. Limp Dick Hair? Try Dry Shampoo!
This product is heaven sent by the Gods and every girl should have a can of dry shampoo in her handbag! Dry shampoo helps absorb excess oils on your hair and adds volume and texture to it.
There are loads on the market now, including ‘coloured dry shampoo’ so if your grey roots are showing – you can kill two birds with one can!
2. Got Straggly Hairs That Won’t Stay in Place? Use toothbrush and hairspray.
You have spent minutes trying to get your hair lovely and flat and neat with a brush – have pinned it into place and now there are those straggly hairs that are sticking up just wrecking your do. What do you do? Grab an old toothbrush and give it a spray with some hairspray – then use the toothbrush to gently ‘brush’ those stragglers straight into place!
Particularly good for the nape of the hair that always seems messy!
3. Frizzy As F*ck Hair? Pull Your hair Into a Bun
Frizzy hair is tricky to try and tame – so the good ole fashioned bun can be a livesaver. I’m not talking about a perfect little bun – I’m talking about a messy topknot that takes five seconds kinda bun. Those few hairs that escape can frame your face!
A bun is always a lifesaver when you’re in a rush, whenever you feel like it, or during your worst days. Putting your hair in a bun will give you a polished and classy look that’s perfect for whatever occasion.
4. Always carry bobby pins.
Bobby pins are super handy for days when you want to add style to your hair or for a real quick fix. These are just small items that it can fit your purse so there’s basically no reason for you not to always have one.
5. Learn how to braid.
Whether you have straight or curly hair, braiding your hair is always an effective solution to a bad hair day. Plus there are hundreds of ways you can braid your hair that suits your style.
6. Wear a hat or headband.
Perhaps the easiest way to look classy, glamourous or adorable is wearing a hat or headband. For dull-looking hair or thick frizzy hair, these accessories will complete your day. Find a hat or headband that goes with everything — a plain, simple one will do. Basically, a no-brainer!
7. Find time to prepare.
Having great hair could actually take a very little effort. Just find time to prepare to do your hair. Learn to adjust your time so you can have time to fix your hair the way you want it to. Learn to do hairstyles that you can finish in as little as five minutes.
8. Tease.
If you have flat hair, you can backcomb the roots to give it a fuller look in an instant.
9. Use cool air to set your hair.
When blowdrying your hair, the hot air styles your hair, but the cool setting sets it. It is important to set the hair as it will be the defining factor if your hair is going to last the whole day.
10. Know your hair type.
All of these tips will not apply to you if you don’t know your hair type. If you have either dry or oily hair, use products that would enhance your hair type. If you have thick hair, don’t use any volumising product anymore, or if you already have flat hair, don’t try to make it worse by making it even flatter.
The key to ending your bad hair days is to understand your hair type so you’ll know what to do with it.
