Miranda Loves Denim (and so should you!)

This week, here at Stay At Home Mum are loving Miranda Kerr rocking denim.

Denim on denim is no longer the theme from the mystery bus pub crawl you went on once (even though on Britney and Justin it still makes us cringe), it’s all the rage this season and here is my guide to pulling off the look.

The denim shirt is so popular right now, and easy to find, my cheap favourite is the Summer Soft Shirt in Arizona Blue (Cotton On, $39.99)
Pair them with Lee’s High Lick Jeans in Blue Rinse ($149.95), an oversized handbag and some leopard print flats.

Another simple, yet chic way Miranda just nails denim: think Spring in Paris, eating bread and cheese and sipping on champagne, swap her heels for bright coloured flats and just pull your hair back in a tight, low bun.

Throw on the Twisted Slub Jersey Curve Hem Tee (Bonds, $24.95) and nearly identical high waisted black jeans: Cheap Monday High Spray black jeans, (General Pants Co, $75)

After such a wet, wild summer, and Autumn coming around too fast, I’m not yet reading to give up my summer maxi dresses. Stretch the life out of them in the cool-ish months by investing in a simple denim jacket! It looks perfect thrown over basically anything, a floral dress, leggings and a basic tee shirt. Even dress it up for a night out over a LBD.

I imagine Miranda woke up this morning on one of her off days, maybe indulging in a little too much pasta and not enough vegan yoga the night before, the skinny high waisted jeans just gave her way to much bulge”¦ so she opted for Orlando’s (or James Packer’s, whoever whatever) jeans at the time.

The boyfriend jeans are the track-pants of the denim world – but with style. Find a pair with a bit of stretch, that fit comfortably around your waist, and even on those days when you feel like they are just a bit too tight, do a Miranda and tuck a loose fitting tank top in, and tie a light jumper (or denim long sleeved shirt) around your waist for maximum style and maximum coverage.

Snag a pair of the Alexa Boyfriend Jeans in Snow-wash Blue (Supre) for only $45! But always try on Supre jeans, as their sizes can be a bit funny.
