I have suffered from acne my whole adult life. Every month when ‘Aunty Flo’ comes about, I have a face full of zits. No fair.
And it is always the case that you get a huge zit the day before your wedding, or that important date or job interview. Whatever the reason – here is the solution for you. The Aspirin Face Mask will take all the ‘redness’ and ‘heat’ out of the pimple, and settle down the inflammation – it’s a super fast pimple stopper!
So whilst hunting around for the best types of homemade face masks for pimples, I kept seeing these ‘aspirin’ face masks and I was a little intrigued. Apparently, it is fabulous for clearing up acne and spot treating zits and has been around forever. So I thought I’d share. I haven’t tried it – but I’m going to! This mask is best used just before bed!
What You Will Need
- 1 teaspoon of Manuka honey (or, if you don’t have Manuka, any sort will do)
- 6-8 aspirin, depending on whether you want to ‘spot treat’ or do your whole face
Note: Do not use if allergic to aspirin. Check with your doctor first!
What You Should Do
Crush the aspirin into small pieces by rolling a coffee cup or glass cup over them. Place aspirin in a shallow dish. Stir in a few drops of water to help the aspirin dissolve into a paste. Warm the honey gently (pop in the microwave for a few seconds – but be careful!) and add the warm honey and stir well. Apply to the face and allow to dry. Leave the aspirin face mask on for 15 – 20 minutes before removing with a warm cloth. Moisturise your face well.
Use weekly for really bad skin. Alternatively, just do a ‘spot treatment’ on the area in question when needed.
