Boobs. We carry them with us everywhere we go, but how much do we really know about them, and how much misinformation do we believe?
With the internet and the misinformation mill that occupies our day-to-day lives, it’s not really a surprise that there are a lot of myths out there about your chesticles. They have amazed us for years, they feed our children, they impress our partners. All of that is true. But these things definitely aren’t.
1. They Get Bigger When You Gain Weight
It’s often said by women that their breasts get bigger when they gain weight, and smaller when they lose it. Absolutely false. Women are not all the same, so we all gain and store weight in a different way. So, while your boobs won’t get bigger from gaining weight, the area around your chest might appear bigger if you happen to have the kind of body type that stores fat in that location.
2. Wearing A Bra At Night Prevents Sag
For years, women have languished in bed wearing bras under the perception that wearing a bra overnight will help to prevent sagging. Well, sorry to pull you down, but that just isn’t true. In fact, despite many studies, there’s absolutely no proof that keeping the ladies locked up at night will do anything good for your sag levels. There’s no proof it’s necessarily bad for you either, so really it’s up to you.
3. Breast Implants Last All Your Life
Many people don’t realise this, and are surprised when they hear it, but breast implants are like any medical device: you can’t just pop them in and expect them to last a lifetime. Implants, just like anything else inserted into the body that doesn’t occur naturally, needs to be monitored and perhaps replaced as the years wear on. If you have implants, or you want them, make sure you talk to your doctor about their expected lifespan.
