6. Get Others On Board
Explain to the others in your life that you are making some changes. Tell them that it is important to you and ask them to write their own bucket list of things they wish you all had time to do. This is a good time to delegate tasks and discuss what fun you will have together.
7. Limit TV
Most of us use TV to veg out in front of. Using the TV to unwind is not so bad but how long do you really need? Just a few minutes in a day to watch our favourite TV series.. but not too much that you end up sitting there all day. This is often not a very good use of time after all, we aren’t learning very much here. Try having at least one TV free night a week and watch what happens.
8. Limit Bad Relationships
Do you know we are supposed to be an average of the seven closest people around us? Think about who those people are. Is that what you want? Is it time to limit the association of those who are holding you back with negative talk and stagnant behaviour? After all, successful people do not have time for negative energy.
9. Stop Over Committing
We have all been guilty of this at some point in our lives. There is even a saying…. If you want a job done … give it to a busy person. So true, but you don’t have to be a hero. Ask yourself this… Are these things adding to the quality of my life? Mmmmm probs not.
10. Relax Your Standards
And finally, who cares if you have some dust. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Your friends and family would much rather you sit and have a cuppa and a chat than be running around with a mop and a duster. No one will die if there is a cup ring on the coffee table.
The truth be told, people remember your mood. All of the effort that goes into impressing people can really come down to how engaged you are not what you are wearing or how well it is ironed. Your closest people won’t care what your hairdo is, anyway. So take time for yourself and you will be more equipped to handle the real challenges in life.
