BREAKING NEWS: BONE FRAGMENT FOUND IN WILLIAM TYRRELL SEARCH

During the renewed search for the remains of William Tyrrell, NSW Police have revealed a bone has been found and sent away for forensic testing.

NSW Assistant Commissioner Stuart Smith confirmed the discovery of the bone fragment.

“Another bone fragment was found, it will be processed with the others by forensics. We don’t know what the answers of those are until we are provided with that.”

Police and Emergency Services have spent the last four weeks searching bushland near Kendall where three-year-old William Tyrrell went missing in September 2014. William was last seen at his Foster Grandmothers home wearing a Spiderman suit.

The search so far has revealed some cloth pieces and other items of forensic interest. A significant amount of soil has also been taken for forensic analysis. They have also dug extensively on the property belonging to the location William disappeared from.

The bone, found on Wednesday, has not been confirmed yet to be human or animal. Police have confirmed that animal remains were found in the search about a fortnight ago.

The Mazda that previously belonged to Williams foster Grandmother has also been retained for forensic analysis.

Last month there was a significant breakthrough in the case, and police were confident that they will solve the mystery of what happened to William Tyrell. Police were looking into the theory that William may have fallen from the balcony at the Kendall home.
