When it comes to showing Mum how much you love her this Mother’s Day, a little bit of effort goes a long way.
Here at SAHM we love to budget and we have some great ideas for you this Mother’s Day.
Heartfelt Homemade
A gift made with love is always a fantastic way to say thanks. Line a box or jar with tissue or baking paper and fill with a few homemade treats, add another layer of paper and pop the lid on. Decorate the gift box or jar with string, ribbon, flowers and a hand-made gift tag.
Get Crafty
Why not create Mum a personalised charm necklace? You can use charms from earrings or other broken jewelry and include something special to mum like a birthstone or favorite charm. This is a great way to breathe new life into old favorites too far gone to be worn any other way. You’ll need a length of chain, some jump rings and a pair of jewelry pliers. You might even find hubby has a cute pair of pliers in his tool box that would do the trick, otherwise you’d find these items at your local Spotlight. Simply arrange the charms to your liking on a jump ring, using other jump rings to connect individual pieces and thread onto the chain.
Pintrest
Check out Pinterest for Mother’s Day free printables which you could make (or have made) into a printed canvas or simply frame an A4 print out.
Better Than Store Bought Flowers
Use the kid’s hands as printing blocks and create a picture with paint, hands splayed to the side palm down could be butterfly wings and a few hands palm down could be turned into a picture of a nice bunch of flowers. Alternatively, cut the base off a whole a bunch of celery to make a pretty flower print block.
Take Over The Kitchen
Whip up a batch of our Jam Heart Biscuits and gift wrap them, or fill a pretty glass jar – found at your local opportunity store or garage sale, with our fabulous Marbled Meringue Kisses.
