10. Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens

For families looking for a spot that their kids can run around in, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens is ideal. Located in Hobart, the gardens is a great family friendly destination for folks of all ages. Entry is by gold coin donation, with lots of beautiful native Tasmanian and Australian flora to see. Don’t forget to check out the Conservatory for floral displays, and see the rare Huon pines!
9. Don River Railway

For transport enthusiasts and trainspotters, visiting the Don River Railway is a must-do. The railway is the last remaining bastion of rail-based transport in operation today. It’s all vintage locomotives at Don River, with visitors getting an opportunity to ride the historic line on either a steam train (on Sundays only) or a vintage railcar, along the banks of the Don River. Entirely run by volunteers, the train ride is picturesque and exciting for any train lovers.
