We know that allergies are on the rise, but for those who can indulge there isn’t much better in our eyes than peanut butter, particularly when it comes to us in the form of Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownies. These treats have it all: the nutty flavours of peanut butter, the rich indulgence of chocolate. They’re just perfect.
Even better is that these brownies are super easy to make, and can be whipped together in just a few minutes if you have a craving for something guilty, or if you’re catering for kiddies or an event. They’re a guaranteed hit with lovers of both peanut butter, and of chocolate.
Method
-
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees (160 for fan forced) and line a 25cm square baking tin with baking paper. Also set aside 80g of the peanut butter to top the brownies.
-
In a pan melt together the remaining peanut butter, the dark chocolate bar and the sugar in a pan, stirring regularly. Continue until the the sugar has just about meted. Then turn of the heat and allow to cool.
-
Once slightly cooled, use a wooden spoon to beat the eggs in one at a time. Then stir in the flour and combine well. Pour this mixture into the prepared tin.
-
Melt the rest of the peanut butter in the microwave on high for about 45 seconds, or in a pan, until it is nice and runny. Drizzle the melted peanut butter over the brownie.
-
Bake for about 30 minutes or until a crust has formed on the outsides of the brownie but the middle still seems a little undercooked. Sprinkle chocolate buds over the top if you want.
