Branded a bold move in advertising, Medibank launches it’s most modern ad to date.
In an effort to forge a new connection to the modern family, the minute long advert features true family diversity. Families and individuals that are single, same sex, mixed race, migrant, indigenous and who have disabilities.
It even proudly shows a gay couple kissing and, wait for it, a woman actually breast feeding.
Shut the front door!
I think my favourite part is when the kid is climbing up the door frame. #RealLife
“This campaign helps demonstrate how Medibank sees and delivers on the different health insurance needs of Australians to deliver better health,” Medibank said in a statement. “It’s important to recognize the diversity of Australia today, and serves to raise awareness of Medibank’s recognition that people live and love differently and we are always seeking ways forward to provide the right cover and services for every kind of family and every kind of individual, for life.”
Not everyone thinks it is a shining beacon of what represents the average Australian family taking their grievances to social media. Cue the trolls…

In our humble opinion, they’ve hit the nail on the head by getting really real.
