Ingredients

  • 2000 g Beef Or Pork Ribs
  • 1/2 cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Garlic crushed
  • 1 Ginger fresh, grated
  • 1/2 cup Orange Juice (or lemon or lime)
  • 1 g Red Chili de-seeded and chopped coarsely (optional)

Slow Cooker Chinese Ribs

Slowcooker Chinese Ribs taste absolutely amazing! It takes a while to cook but the end product is definitely worth it!

Method

  1. Place the defrosted ribs into the slow cooker on the bottom.

  2. Mix the rest of the ingredients together in a bowl and pour the sauce over the top.

  3. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours or high for 2.5 hours.

  4. If the mixture is too wet - add a little cornflour dissolved in water.

  5. If you wish to make this in the oven, follow the above directions but place mixture in a baking dish, cover in foil and bake for two hours at 180 degrees C.

  6. Remove the foil for the last 20 minutes for the sauce to thicken and caramelise.

Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • Slow Cooker Chinese Ribs are not suitable for freezing.  Best made just before serving.
  • Tip - Serve on a bed of mixed Asian Greens and Jasmine Rice.
